Vacation ideas: Nos 6-11
Silhouette

There are several elements working here to lead your eye to the subjects.
The shadow lines - the origin of the shadow comes from the subjects, so your eye naturally leads to them.
The small height of the mountains immediately gives us an impression of great distance.
By using silhouettes, the photographer has placed our subjects right at the place where the eye naturally leads to – the source of light.
The increase in size of the clouds and their detailing, from the distance also enforces the perception of depth.
The Spa look

Its on vacations that we usually get to take a long deep spa treatment with no work to attend to – don’t forget to capture the moment – you will relish it later when you are back to the daily grind after your vacation..
All kinds of interesting shots are possible – usually very serious looking people end up looking real fun when covered in soap bubbles!
Bonus tip: Can be replicated in a less than expensive hotel room also. Just make enough bubbles to cover all the cheap stuff !
Be careful to keep your camera in a waterproof case!
Strategic sunlight shot

If you can use your silhouettes well you can also come up with some nice shapes (see how the silhouettes almost form a heart shape with the sunlight between them).
Tip: Use your fingers as props to figure how the sun would stream through, before you take the shot.
The eye will be led towards the source of the light.
The silhouettes work best when there are not background elements to break the definition – the height from the shoulder above for the first photograph, clearly stand out against the sky.
Beach Run

Looks more fun when you have something to run away from
- sea waves are an easy one. Pets love to chase too.
In the first shot, the photographer has chosen a higher position to take the snapshot, giving the chance to get the sea properly in the shot, also giving the impression of a larger ‘wave’ they are running from. If the photographer was at the same height, the shot would have not been so interesting.
Sand and Color

In the second shot, the photographer has waited for the water to wash up on the slipper to add a touch of drama to the shot, like if the person decided to walk barefoot. Creating a storyline for your photos is an interesting way to add a touch of creativity to your photos.
In the first shot, the burst of colors has been framed against the sandy background - the choice of items says it all – beach, sunny, etc.
Shoulder shots or “Looking into the vastness”

Works well at the beach but it is just as good against any backdrop.
Bonus tip: Nice chance to show off your tan, or tattoos!
